In the aftermath of "To Reign in Hell, " V is haunted by the Other and by his memory of having killed, for the first and only time, with his fangs in that episode. Paracelsus plots toward an invasion of the tunnels and the subversion of V's loyalty to Father, centering on Paracelsus' journals which Father has never revealed to V. Meanwhile Catherine investigates a vagrant's murder hinging on a mask impregnated with Paracelsus' drug.
